The Chief Executive Fata Development Authority Syed Alamgir Shah, while addressing a function at the Government Technical Institute (GTI) Ekka Ghund Mohmand Agency on Monday, said that the Fata Development Authority (FDA) was struggling to provide job opportunities to the youth of the tribal districts after the merger process due to the prevalent unemployment in this region. Addressing the ceremony, Shah told that the main objective of the Fata Job Fair was to create awareness among the youth regarding the job opportunities in the tribal districts. He said that a total of 117 students got trainings in various fields like civil, electrical, mining and telecom in the institute. “These trained students are now getting jobs in various workshops of the region “said Shah. Shah further said that the FDA wanted to start a pilot project for marble polishing unit in the Mohmand agency as Mohmand had the best marble in Pakistan. FDA Skills Manager Arshad Farooqi told that the FDA had started work in 2016 to provide technical education so that the unemployed youth could get the jobs. He told that the FDA started various diploma courses in areas like Bajaur, Sadda and Miran Shah which are considered to be the most backward areas in the tribal districts. GTI Head of Department Wajid Khan, while addressing the function, said that the students of the institute do majority of the work practically so the solar system should be installed to avoid any power outages during practical works. FDA Secretary Raja Muhammad Tariq, Lower Mohmand Assistant Commissioner Touseef Khalid, GTI Principal Masood Jan and GTI students and teachers also attended the function.
