LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday criticised the role of the establishment in local politics and urged it not to interfere in politics.
Bilawal started street politics in the city by visiting the family of a deceased worker Hara Sain in Nawa
z Sharif’s native constituency NA-120 at Abid Market in Mozang area. He criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) gover
nment for poor development and progress in the constituency.
Talking to the media, he termed PML-N “a failed party” in
every aspect and at all levels, even in the matter of census on which PPP had reservations “that should be addressed”. He said the rulers were trying to make
everything and
every issue controversial, including the census.
The PPP chairman said that his party wanted general election on time and a smooth transfer of power from a civilian gover
nment to the next civilian gover
nment in a democratic way. Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s demand for snap elections, he said the PTI chief feared defeat in the next election, due to which he was making such demands.
He added that General (r) Pervez Musharraf, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) would also face defeat in the next general election. “Absconding Musharraf will return to Pakistan in handcuffs for appearing before the court as an accused person in different
cases.”
