KARACHI: The rise of hep
atitis in rural areas of Sindh, including the Khairpur district, has resulted in the death of at least 10 people, from Muh
ammad Laiq Rajper village, in the last 15 days.
The increase in use of contaminated water has been understood to be the principal cause in the rise of the disease.
According to details,
the hep
atitis virus has been spreading speedily in various parts of the district with hundreds
patients visiting hospitals in all eight talukas of the district. However, there are still many other very poor
patients who cannot afford to visit towns and seek medical treatment.
The disease has especially and badly affected the Muh
ammad Laiq Rajper village near Kumb with Muh
ammad Laiq Rajper died in the last 15 days. 2people, namely Muh
ammad Aqil Rajper and Ameer Ali Rajper, of the village died of hep
atitis on Tuesday night.
Villagers told media that more than 100 people are suffering from hep
atitis in their area. They appealed to
the health department to send a team of doctors to their village on urgent basis.
